In a groundbreaking move that promises to redefine the landscape of mid-range smartphones, Samsung has officially announced the expansion of its partnership with AMD, a renowned graphics processing unit (GPU) manufacturer. The collaboration, initially unveiled two years ago, first bore fruit with the integration of AMD's RDNA2 architecture-based GPU, Xclipse, into the Exynos 2200 System-on-Chip (SoC). However, recent reports suggest that Samsung's utilization of AMD's RDNA GPUs is set to extend beyond high-end SoCs, reaching the mid-range smartphone market with the impending release of Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480.

The exciting revelation comes courtesy of tech leaker Revegnus, known for credible insights in the tech sphere, who shared the news via Twitter. According to Revegnus, the Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 are slated for release in the coming year.

Samsung enthusiasts can expect to see these two SoCs powering the next wave of mid-range smartphones, including the highly anticipated Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A15. Notably, Samsung's prior mid-range offerings, the Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A54, featured GPUs from ARM's Mali series, a reference design. With the shift to AMD GPUs, Samsung seems poised to prioritize enhancing its Image Signal Processor (ISP) capabilities over gaming performance. Revegnus offered a tempered perspective, cautioning against setting overly high gaming expectations, suggesting that the focus is elsewhere.

Beyond the mid-range segment, Samsung's commitment to AMD GPUs extends to its flagship lineup. The Exynos 2400, the next iteration in Samsung's top-tier SoCs, is rumored to incorporate AMD's Xclipse 940 GPU, featuring six work group processors (WGP). Complementing the GPU prowess is a robust CPU configuration, boasting ten cores, including one Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.16 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at 1.9 GHz.

As consumers eagerly await the official releases of Exynos 1430, Exynos 1480, and Exynos 2400, expectations are running high for a new era of smartphone experiences.
